Session Policies

Paula brings her love of photography and more than 30 years of experience as a photojournalist to every session. Her goal is to create authentic, meaningful portraits that capture the people you love and preserve this chapter of your family's story.

She works to create a relaxed and enjoyable experience where children and families feel comfortable being themselves. No two families are alike, and each session is tailored to reflect your unique personalities, relationships, and interests.

After booking, Paula will work with you to plan your session, including location suggestions, clothing guidance, timing, and tips to help you make the most of your photography experience.

*Sessions typically book about 4 weeks in advance and up to 6 weeks in advance during the busy fall season.

Session Policies & Information

Session Fees & Payment

Session fees cover the time and talent of the photographer and are not applied toward portrait purchases.
Most portrait sessions have a minimum portrait investment requirement. Digital Sessions are excluded from this requirement.
Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, cash, and checks are accepted.
Full payment is due at the time an order is placed.
Massachusetts sales tax of 6.25% will be added to all applicable orders.
Due to the custom nature of photography services and products, all sales are final.

Scheduling & Rescheduling

Sessions may be rescheduled one time due to illness. Additional rescheduling requests will incur a $75 rescheduling fee.
Weather-related rescheduling is always accommodated at no additional charge.
Retainers are non-refundable and secure your date and time on Paula's calendar.
No-shows forfeit their retainer. If you need to reschedule, please provide at least 48 hours notice whenever possible.

During Your Session

Most portrait sessions include up to one hour of photography time unless otherwise noted.
An unlimited number of images and poses may be photographed during your session.
To provide the best experience and maintain the flow of the session, photography and video recording by clients, family members, or guests is not permitted during the session.
Paula reserves the right to end a session if photography or video recording by others interferes with the session.

Viewing & Ordering

Full portrait sessions typically include 40–50 proofs. Mini Sessions typically include approximately 25 proofs.
Proofs are presented in a private online gallery approximately 14–17 days after your session.
Clients have 14 days from gallery delivery to place their order.
Sessions with no orders placed may be removed from our system after 30 days.
Portraits and products may be ordered online, or an in-person ordering appointment may be scheduled during your ordering period.

Image Editing

Every image is carefully color-balanced and includes minor blemish retouching.
Additional retouching requests, including body slimming or extensive image alterations, may be available for an additional fee upon approval.

To maintain the integrity of her work, Paula does not remove individuals who participated in the original portrait session and reserves the right to decline editing requests that do not align with her artistic and professional standards.

Image Storage & Copyright

Paula Swift Photography, Inc. retains copyright to all images.
Images may not be copied, scanned, downloaded, screenshot, reproduced, or altered without written permission.
Digital files purchased from Paula Swift Photography are licensed for personal use only.
Ordered images are retained for up to one year. After that time, images may be archived, and retrieval cannot be guaranteed.

Gift Certificates

Gift Certificates are available and begin at the value of a session fee plus the applicable portrait minimum.

Please ensure the recipient appreciates Paula's photography style, as custom photography is a personal investment and Gift Certificates are non-refundable.
