More Than Just a Photo—Preserving Memories by the Sea

At the beach, I create a relaxed experience that allows your family to slow down, connect, and enjoy time together. While I'll guide you into beautiful light and create flattering portraits, I'm always looking for the genuine moments in between—the laughter, the hand-holding, the children exploring the shoreline, and the connections that make your family unique.

Whether it's a family vacation in Maine, an evening in Swampscott at sunset, a trip to Cape Cod, a high school senior session, or simply time spent together by the ocean, these sessions are designed to create both beautiful portraits and meaningful memories. Beach sessions typically take place about 1½ hours before sunset when the light is at its most beautiful and flattering.

Using the beach's natural beauty as our backdrop, I blend thoughtfully posed portraits with authentic storytelling moments to create images that preserve this chapter of your family's story and the memories you've made by the sea.

Beach Session Fee Only | $325

  • 1 hour session within 40 miles of Sudbury/Framingham, MA (up to 6 people)
  • $25 per additional person after the first 6
  • Unlimited poses and images taken during that time
  • Session fee is for time for the shoot, no portraits or digital files are included
  • *$395 order minimum*
  • Plus 6.25 MA Sales Tax
  • Please inquire for travel fees outside of 40 miles

Outdoor On-Location Session

Digital Option | $925

  • 1 hour beach session within 40 miles of Sudbury/Framingham, MA (up to 6 people)
  • $25 per additional person after the first 6
  • Unlimited poses and images taken during that time.
  • Includes 15 high resolution digital images of your choice that will be sent via an online download gallery.

Beach Sessions—Sunsets, Sand, and Smiles

The years pass quickly, but some of our favorite memories are made by the water. My beach photography sessions in Massachusetts, Cape Cod, and Maine are designed to capture the people you love most while preserving this chapter of your family's story.

Using the beach's beautiful natural light, I create a mix of relaxed portraits and genuine moments that highlight the connections, laughter, and personalities that make your family unique. Whether it's children playing along the shoreline, a high school senior celebrating a milestone, or a family gathered together during a vacation, my goal is to create images that feel natural and authentic.

When you look back at these photographs years from now, I want you to remember more than what everyone looked like. I want you to remember the ocean breeze, the sound of the waves, the laughter, and the time spent together that made these moments so special.

FAQ

When should I book a beach photography session?

Beach photography sessions are offered during June, July, August, and early September. I recommend booking at least 2–4 weeks in advance, although summer dates—especially weekends—often fill quickly. Booking 6–8 weeks in advance is the best way to secure your preferred date.

I also offer beach sessions in Ocean Park, Old Orchard Beach, and Scarborough, Maine during July and August. Since my family has a home in Maine, there are no travel fees for sessions in these locations. If you're planning a Maine vacation and would like a sunset beach session, please reach out as early as possible to reserve your date, as availability is limited during the summer months.

What should we wear?

For beach sessions, I recommend choosing clothing that coordinates rather than matches. Gone are the days of everyone wearing the exact same white shirt and khakis. Instead, select colors and outfits that complement one another while still allowing each person's personality to shine through.

Soft neutrals, blues, pastels, and earth tones tend to photograph beautifully at the beach and work well with the natural colors of the ocean, sand, and sky. Avoid large logos, busy patterns, and neon colors, which can be distracting in photographs.

Comfort is also important. Choose clothing that allows you to move, walk along the shoreline, and enjoy the experience. Flowy dresses, lightweight fabrics, and layered outfits often photograph beautifully in the coastal breeze and help create a relaxed, natural look.

What happens if it rains?

If it rains on the day of your beach session, we'll reschedule for another day whenever possible. Because many beach sessions are booked around family vacations, I often recommend scheduling well in advance. When my schedule allows, I'm sometimes able to offer two potential session dates during your vacation week, giving us flexibility if the weather doesn't cooperate.

My goal is to photograph your session in the best possible conditions and create beautiful images you'll love for years to come.

When will I see my images?

Your images will be ready to view in a private online gallery approximately 14–17 days after your session. From there, you’ll be able to select your favorites and place your order.
