I recommend booking your newborn session while you’re still pregnant—usually during your second or early third trimester. I’ll reserve space around your due date, and once your baby arrives, we’ll choose the perfect day within those first couple of weeks when they’re still sleepy and curled up.

I know babies don’t always arrive on schedule—whether early or late, we’ll simply move your session date forward or back to align with your baby’s birth. By pre-booking your newborn session, you’ll have a reserved spot on my studio or in-home newborn calendar.

Absolutely! Newborn sessions are a beautiful opportunity to capture your growing family. Parents, siblings, and even pets are always welcome to be part of your session.

I’ll guide you through simple, natural posing to keep everyone comfortable and relaxed, while still focusing on your baby. Including your family adds connection and meaning to your images, creating portraits that truly tell your story.

Newborn sessions are typically scheduled for up to 2 hours to allow plenty of time for feedings, soothing, and settling your baby into a comfortable, sleepy state.

Some sessions may take less time, while others may go a bit longer—everything is baby-led. This relaxed approach ensures we can capture those beautiful, natural moments without ever feeling rushed.

Newborn sessions can take place either in my Sudbury, MA studio or in the comfort of your home.

In the studio, I provide everything needed—professional lighting, backdrops, wraps, and a curated selection of props to create a variety of timeless portraits. My studio is designed to feel warm and welcoming, much like a home, so you can relax and be comfortable throughout your session. This is also the option most families choose.

For in-home sessions, I bring portable lighting along with a few wraps and simple outfits. These sessions have a more relaxed, lifestyle feel, using the natural surroundings of your home—or outdoors if the weather is warm. Please note there is an additional fee for in-home sessions.

I provide a curated collection of soft wraps, simple outfits, and timeless accessories for your newborn session, so you don’t need to bring anything unless you’d like to.

My style focuses on keeping things neutral and classic, allowing your baby—and all those tiny details—to be the focus. If you have a special outfit, blanket, or meaningful item, you’re always welcome to bring it along to personalize your session.

I recommend wearing soft, neutral tones such as creams, whites, grays, and pastels. Simple, timeless clothing photographs beautifully and keeps the focus on your connection with your baby.

Flowy dresses for moms and casual, neutral tops for spouses work especially well. Try to avoid busy patterns, logos, or bright colors, as they can be distracting in photos.

Most importantly, choose something you feel comfortable and confident in—especially since you’ve just had a baby. I’m always happy to offer guidance or help coordinate outfits for your session.

Your images will be ready to view in a private online gallery approximately 14–17 days after your session. From there, you’ll be able to select your favorites and place your order.

 Yes! Many families choose to document both their maternity and newborn sessions, creating a beautiful way to tell the story from anticipation to arrival.
