Springtime in Boston is one of the most beautiful times of year to photograph graduation portraits. The blooming trees, historic pathways, and classic charm of the Boston Public Garden make it an incredible backdrop for celebrating such an important milestone.

Last spring, I had the pleasure of photographing this radiant Suffolk University graduate, who grew up in Framingham, Massachusetts, as she celebrated completing her college journey. She wanted graduation portraits that felt joyful, stylish, and distinctly Boston.

The Boston Public Garden offered the perfect setting. From the winding garden paths to the iconic bridge and vibrant spring greenery, every corner of the park provided a beautiful place to capture portraits that celebrate both the graduate and the city where she studied.

Graduation portraits like these are about more than documenting the moment. They celebrate years of dedication, hard work, and the excitement of everything that lies ahead.

During this session we captured a mix of classic portraits, relaxed lifestyle images, and playful cap-toss moments that reflect the excitement of graduation day.

If you’re graduating in 2026, graduation portraits are a wonderful way to celebrate this incredible milestone.

My studio, Paula Swift Photography, is located in Sudbury, Massachusetts, and I photograph graduation portraits throughout Boston, Framingham, Sudbury, Natick, and the MetroWest area.

Boston Public Garden Graduation Portrait Session

The Boston Public Garden is one of my favorite locations for graduation portraits because it offers so much variety within a single location. Elegant bridges, garden paths, blooming flowers, and the beautiful skyline of Boston create timeless backdrops for celebrating graduation.

Graduation sessions can include a mix of cap and gown portraits, outfit changes, and natural candid moments that capture personality and excitement.

For many graduates, these portraits become keepsakes that mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of another.
