Fall senior portrait session at the historic Wayside Inn Grist Mill and Gardens in Sudbury MA by Boston Metrowest senior photographer Paula Swift. This beautiful location in Sudbury, Massachusetts is one of my favorite places for timeless senior portraits filled with natural light, historic charm, and classic New England scenery.
As a Sudbury MA senior photographer, I love photographing senior portrait sessions at the historic Wayside Inn Grist Mill and Gardens. The property offers an incredible variety of backdrops within a short walk — from charming wooden barns and rustic fences to peaceful water views and beautiful garden paths.
For this senior session, the gardens were still filled with late-season daisies and warm autumn light. The soft fall colors paired beautifully with her classic white sweater dress, creating portraits that feel both timeless and natural.
One of the reasons I often recommend the Wayside Inn Grist Mill for senior portraits in the Boston Metrowest area is the incredible variety of scenery. During this session we explored several different spots throughout the property, including the flower-filled garden paths, rustic barn walls, scenic bridges, and the iconic Grist Mill overlooking the water.
Each location adds a slightly different feel to the portraits while keeping a cohesive New England look that families love.
This senior was wonderful to photograph. She had such a relaxed, natural presence in front of the camera and an effortless smile that made every location we explored feel easy and authentic. Those natural moments are always my favorite to capture.
Senior year is such an important milestone for families. These portraits capture who someone is right before they step into a whole new chapter of life — college, careers, and new adventures ahead.
