Boston MA Baby and Family Photographer | Franklin Photographer | 6 Month Old Photography Session
I always try to evoke emotions through my eyes, my lens and in my work. Â I knew during this session there was going to be a magical and romantic feel to this family’s photographs. The 6 month old baby girl even added a little humor and cuteness at the end as she wore a really handmade flower hat her talented mom had made just for the session. Â I loved how prepared mom was for the session, it was so helpful in creating these beautiful portraits for them. We started outside at a local park and then headed to my studio. Their baby girl was like the energy bunny…she just kept on smiling and going and going and going. It was one of those first hot days in August but you would of never known it. Here are some favorites…
PS I am so excited I figured out why my vertical images have been showing so washed out on my blog. All fixed and its true my images vibrant colors are finally showing up…Phew!
These pictures are breathtaking….i love your location where the tree and tall grass is…and the lighting is absolutely perfect.
Fantastic. 🙂
Hi Paula,
I love all your pics, but of all your sessions this last one (of 6mo old) took my breath away. I shared it with co-workers and we all gasped in amazement. I love the angles, the exposure and that the white is truly white. I wished I had gone to you for photos of my two kids at that age. One of these years I will come to you :). My kids are now 4 &5.
Question, were the ones of mother and child taken at f2.8 or f4? Also, did you use a reflector or scrim jim, did you use a light meter? Thanks.
Simply gorgeous. Congratulations. You deserve so much success and more!
Grace
Thank you Crystal and Grace.
Grace…most of these images were taken with my 70-200 IS at different focal lengths and f-stops. Mostly 3.5-4.5 outdoors to keep mom and baby in focus since they weren’t on the same focal plane. Yes I always use a hand held light meter at the start of the shoot. Once I get that accurate reading then I will shoot like I did in my photojournalism days..no reflector or scrim. and metering in camera to adjust for lighting changes. These images are taken mid morning with some cloud cover here and there. I feel natural light is best when the conditions allow it. 🙂
Thanks, Paula! I can’t stop looking at them :).
