I love when I have the opportunity to use my dramatic lighting skills to photograph families in my Framingham studio loft. It added such a nice feeling to this beautiful family’s photography session. The session was booked primarily to focus on their 4 month old baby girl and their family. Image ideas started to appear in front of me as I started their session. I first noticed the connection between big brother and little sister was so evident…I noticed how loving he was to his sister. She smiled and touched his hands as he held her and then when she was laid in the basket. Mom loves black and white photography, so I really played on that look with my lighting. One of my favorite family studio portraits was captured this day – as they held her in their arms with my lights shining down on them. Then big brother wanted some alone time in front of my lenses…so I kept the same lighting set-up and had him sit and be “serious”, which is very hard for a 9 yr old but he did great. I am thrilled with the results. I can’t wait to capture my own boys in this set-up. I have to add mom brought the cutest outfits and hats in for her daughter…they were just perfect! I was humming  that oldie ” splish splash I was taking a bath” while editing these really cute photos of this little man. He came into the studio for his 6 month portraits and it was so nice seeing his family again. Another very smiley baby..6 months is such a great age to photograph.  I have been photographing them since he was just a little pea in a pod in his mommy’s tummy, then met him for his newborn portraits at just a few weeks old. I’m looking forward to seeing how much he changes over the next 6 months when he comes back for his one year portraits.  We were lucky enough that the weather was perfect for their in studio and outdoor photography session. We even got to use one of my favorite props…my old pram from when I was a baby. It’s in pretty good shape for being 38 years old.  Here are some favorites from their beautiful session…

 The colors were just starting to change when I photographed this family at a beautiful location on the water in Metrowest Boston on a warm fall morning. I had fun photographing them along the shore and wooded area. I was able to capture one of my signature silhouettes of the 4 of them ( including the cute dog). Here are some favorites.

I just love the area near my mom’s house up in Southern Maine. We can walk across the street into the pines or a few streets down to the ocean. It was pretty hot up here so we heaed into the woods for some portraits, while the other two were on the beach with their Nanas. Logan is almost 9 weeks old so it was time for some more portraits.

And a few portraits of his big brothers “admiring” their new little brother when they came back from the beach. This was a not a easy mini session, getting them all together in the same frame. It took almost 9 weeks to get to this point.
