Today’s blog feature is from a beautiful outdoor family session in Brookline.  It was a perfect warm summer morning when I photographed this fun and energetic family.  I first met this family back in 2011 when they came in for a studio session and we took advantage of the fresh snow that had fallen outdoors near my  Framingham studio loft. It was great to see this family again and to see how much their two children had grown in a short time.  You can feel the love for one another and their smiles are very contagious. The baby boom continues at Paula Swift Photography…not sure what happened 9-10 months ago, but the Boston area is booming with new babies. Its been so much fun meeting all these new families. This little girl was one of the smiliest ( is that a word?) ones I have photographed yet. So adorable and with every deep breath of sleep she would smile. Love it!!! Mom brought some of her cute hats in that went perfectly with their session. Here are some favorites from their studio newborn photography session.
Remember if you are looking for those sleepy newborn poses its best to book while you are pregnant , so your precious new baby can be photographed under 2 weeks of age. The older they are the harder they are to get them asleep during their session.

What an amazing newborn session with a big sister and her new little brother. This little girl just loved her little brother so much…it was adorable! We started the session doing family portraits in their home with my studio lights and then headed outside to capture the new siblings and family together. They had a beautiful area with a piano that had streams of sunlight coming in for natural light portraits. A nice shaded yard was a perfect backdrop to capture their children together as well. The new little guy had the sweetest expressions, yawns, smiles and even a little frown. I just love sessions like these, you never know how the older child is going to act when a new sibling arrives and its wonderful when they are so in love with their new little playmate . I think there may be a baby boom in the Boston area. I have been photographing so many new babies over the past month with many more to come. What a great career I have..I just love meeting all these new lives.

First up a featured session about a new beautiful baby girl to add to this cute family, this makes four kids for them. I met this family a few years ago when their youngest son was just 4 months old you can peek at that session HERE . I loved seeing how much their children had grown since the last time I had seen them. It was another a fun session and their new daughter was just perfect to photograph. Mom had a very adorable flower hat to add into the mix of baby hats that I like to use while new babies are sleeping. Here are some favorites from their in home baby session.

I love photographing this family! I have been doing so since their first was only 4 months old, its been amazing watching this family grow. We did a combo of 2 sessions this time; one focusing on the family and siblings; the second focusing on Ms. A and her very cute smiles and laughs. Such a fun age…7 months. Her big brother was just about 3 and very loving to his little sister. …they have the cutest personalities. Looking forward to photographing them again this summer on the beach. I love when I have the opportunity to use my dramatic lighting skills to photograph families in my Framingham studio loft. It added such a nice feeling to this beautiful family’s photography session. The session was booked primarily to focus on their 4 month old baby girl and their family. Image ideas started to appear in front of me as I started their session. I first noticed the connection between big brother and little sister was so evident…I noticed how loving he was to his sister. She smiled and touched his hands as he held her and then when she was laid in the basket. Mom loves black and white photography, so I really played on that look with my lighting. One of my favorite family studio portraits was captured this day – as they held her in their arms with my lights shining down on them. Then big brother wanted some alone time in front of my lenses…so I kept the same lighting set-up and had him sit and be “serious”, which is very hard for a 9 yr old but he did great. I am thrilled with the results. I can’t wait to capture my own boys in this set-up. I have to add mom brought the cutest outfits and hats in for her daughter…they were just perfect! Look at this beautiful teddy ” Bear” baby boy..he was just so adorable. His big sister who is just about 1.5 years old was so loving with him..kissing, hugging and holding his hands. I just love capturing moments like this for families. I have been photographing this growing family for a few years now and they are just so relaxed during all the sessions , which so is key to being able to creating these images for them. We had lots of fun trying on new hats that I have been buying for all these new babies I have been photographing..I think Bear has a future in modeling. Announcing Mini Theme Sessions… We’ve done these before but not for a few years. I don’t even think we had a blog the last time we had theme minis as I looked back in the archives

This is great for babies sitting on their own up to 6 year olds ( 6 months minimum age). Feel free to incorporate any of your own “attic” or personal props. Props will be geared for little boys and little girls changing them a bit to fit the child’s age. Paula will discuss clothing ideas that will work with the theme set once the session is booked.

Here is what was captured of Mr. Logan, 2.5 in about 20 minutes. Lots of fun and cute keepsakes of this little boy. It was wonderful seeing this family again to photograph their children for the holidays. We lucked out with a very warm November afternoon and they had beautiful fall foliage in their yard. The youngest daughter was so much fun to photograph…full of personality and her “play” outfit was stylish and fun. Here are some favorites…
