Very exciting news here at Paula Swift Photography! I recently found out 2 of my images were accepted and awarded at the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) International Photographic Competition. ”Roots and Wings” 9was selected to be in the PPA’s Loan Collection where it will travel around the country on display with other Loan prints. This is what PPA and its members consider “the best of the best”. “The Journey” was selected into the General Collection where it will be on display at the annual convention next January in Texas. Both of these prints won big in 2009 at our state PPAM convention and then were awarded seals at the regional level PPANE last fall. So I entered them at the big International Competition and was so surprised one of them went Loan! Did I mention this was my first time entering PPA’s competition??? So sleepy while nestled in a basket of pink…this sweet newborn baby girl was beautiful to photograph. She slept and slept and slept during her session. What more could a newborn photographer ask for. We did some special portraits with her mommy and godmother as well. Here are some favorites…
I know its October and I am sharing a beach session… but I am so behind sharing favorites on my blog.
So here is one from this past summer. A very adorable little girl and her parents. We met at the Chatham Bars Inn on the cape and took portraits in their garden before heading to the beach. The night was just beautiful for their portraits. This little girl stole my heart as she sang and flashed me her smile my way. I loved how prepared mom was with bubbles, tutu and fairy wings. I was contacted by a reporter located in Ohio recently to submit some of my work to be featured in an article about the Best Family Photographers in Boston with other photographers in my area. Pretty exciting to be on the other end of a feature story. I am more accustomed to being the photographer who shoots stories like these from my newspaper days.
