What an amazing session we had with this sweet little 7 month old. She was like the energizer bunny with her cute smiles and laughter. Mom had brought in some beautiful dresses and a tutu and we used some of my new hats I had just gotten for older babies. I just loved how she reacted while she sat next to the teddy bears while wearing a teddy bear hat…makes me smile. The weather was nice enough to take advantage of going out to the local park for some outdoor family and child portraits. This little 5 week old baby would of be a few days old if he had arrived on his due date. He surprised his family by coming 5 weeks early. I just loved the ideas this family had for their session. They brought some of their culture into the session, beads and fabric from Togo and a Japanese screen..they just offered such a wonderful touch to their son’s portraits. His grandparents were even here from Togo to join in for some portraits. Babies grow so fast so it was great they were able to be part of his first photo shoot. This little girl was so sweet and I just love her wide-eyed expressions. It was so nice to meet that little baby that was growing in her mommy’s tummy for their in home newborn session. Here is a link to their in studio maternity session Even big sister joined in for some portraits. I love including all members of the family in my sessions. We used a natural setting in their home using my portable studio lighting and perfect natural light coming in from their windows. Who can’t resist a little boy in a mohawk and then add some angel wings? Absolutely loved that mom wanted to do a little ‘hawk on her 4 week old son…and he wore it so well. She also brought in angel wings for her newborn son and 5 year old daughter to wear for their photo session. So sweet and I loved the tender moments the two siblings shared ( with a little coaxing from mom, grandmom and dad) during the shoot. Though it didn’t take much for big sister to hug and kiss her little brother. The dramatic lighting on the black backdrop added a very special touch to their family portraits as well. Okay maybe its my studio …but I have had the happiest and sleepiest babies in my studio this spring and summer. This little girl came in and smiled right away and then clonked out on us with in minutes. Its a very unique studio baby session to have a 4 month old who will pose like she is a 2 week old. I seized the moment to see if she would go for it and she did. Even smiled when her mom leaned over to give her a kiss while she slept. The weather cooperated for us too so we could go outside and shoot some beautiful family portraits as well. This family is only in the states for a short time so it was amazing to capture their little girl and family for them before they head home.
