Such a sweet sweet little baby who slept like a champ, once she finally fell asleep. We were able to do some beautiful baby poses with all these cute hats I have been collecting. I loved how her big kitty sister came over to check on her … couldn’t planned that moment if we tried. She was just over a week old and was so calm and easy to photograph during her session. I brought my portable studio to their Central Massachusetts home. It was great to able to utilize the natural light coming in from their big windows along with my studio lights. This cutie came in for one of my mini sessions and gave me the best expressions, just the cutest personality. She would go from laughter to tears and back to laughter with smiles with in seconds. She’s one of those babies that just make you smile and say awwwww. 6 months….such a fun age to photograph in the studio. Here are some favorites from her mini session…

What a beautiful time in your life when you are expecting your first chid. I love being able to capture the beginnings of a new family. This couple was so wonderful to photograph at the studio earlier this year. They were so relaxed and went along with any ideas that came to mind. The mom-to-be was glowing and beautiful. I love when I have the opportunity to use my dramatic lighting skills to photograph families in my Framingham studio loft. It added such a nice feeling to this beautiful family’s photography session. The session was booked primarily to focus on their 4 month old baby girl and their family. Image ideas started to appear in front of me as I started their session. I first noticed the connection between big brother and little sister was so evident…I noticed how loving he was to his sister. She smiled and touched his hands as he held her and then when she was laid in the basket. Mom loves black and white photography, so I really played on that look with my lighting. One of my favorite family studio portraits was captured this day – as they held her in their arms with my lights shining down on them. Then big brother wanted some alone time in front of my lenses…so I kept the same lighting set-up and had him sit and be “serious”, which is very hard for a 9 yr old but he did great. I am thrilled with the results. I can’t wait to capture my own boys in this set-up. I have to add mom brought the cutest outfits and hats in for her daughter…they were just perfect! I’ve had an exciting past 7 days and need time to catch up … but wanted to share another exciting thing.

I was surprised that little old me was contacted by FotoFlock by Epson to be interviewed as their Featured Photographer. “FotoFlock is India’s first community photography portal. Its Supported by Epson and has over 50,000 visitors every month. FotoFlock aims at educating amateur and advanced amateur level photographers and showcasing the work of top photographers from across the globe.” It was a complete honor to be featured with likes of Joyce Tenneson , Brian Smith and many other well known incredible photographers. Kadambari Khaire Ghate from FotoFlock had great interview questions that made me really think about my work , where I’ve been and how far I have come from being a Photojournalist to a Portrait Photographer. I was so excited when I was contacted by the editor of baystateparent Magazine, Carrie Wattu to use an image from one of my recent newborn sessions. It was of “Bear” a 2 week old little boy in a bear hat…could of been more perfect for his nickname. He oh so sweet and so was his big sister who is only 17 months old. Here is the image that was used in this months edition.
