I love being able to capture new moms and dads to be. Its like being part of that special time and the beginning of their new family..even if its just for brief moment in time. I met this couple in my studio for their maternity session in August and I could feel their excitement as they awaited the arrival of their first baby.  Another wonderful couple to photographed and very relaxed throughout the whole session.  Stay tuned for their newborn session which I will be posting next. But first here are some favs from the maternity session…

Another wonderful summer night for a beach session up in Maine.  Their family had welcomed a second daughter late spring, so it was wonderful to be able to capture their new family in beach session. Their oldest daughter was so much fun to photograph as she kept me and my lenses chasing after each wonder she would discover during the session. Her baby sister took a little nap in one of my baskets on the boardwalk leading to the beach… it was just beautiful and it was even more beautiful when her big sister would come running down to check on her…awwww. Here are some favorites…

A perfect day with gorgeous afternoon lighting for this beautiful senior. She was so much fun to photograph!  I love when they come with open minds and just let me do my thing with posing and natural light filtering through the trees..the session was just sublime. Mom was a great assistant … thank you again.  We even a taste of some early fall colors  in early September.

Here are some favorites…

One of the sweetest and sleepiest newborns I had yet to photograph. She was like “putty” during the beginning of her session. Mom was a great assistant to help with some posing as she slept…thank you again.  I was so excited as I photographed their new family, it was hard not to show it. Thank you again to mom and dad for being so relaxed during the session.

When I have the opportunity to photograph new babies under 2 weeks old I usually know the session is going to go really well. The younger the sleepier they tend to be and the easier the session is on everyone.  So if you are thinking about a newborn session remember to contact me while you are pregnant to get on my calendar. I know babies have their own arrival time ( been there 3 times myself) so its  lose date that will probably be moved around  on after your new baby arrives. However this guarantees that you can get on my calendar and not have to wait.

The Professional Photographer Association of New England held their annual convention and print competition this weekend in Nashua, NH. I had to come back early  due to family and business obligations but it was an amazing time. I entered their print competition for my 2nd time in my life and received two blue merit ribbons and two red ribbons. Those two blue merit ribbon prints received a seal of approval and will automatically be entered into the National competition next May. All four of my prints were hung in the print competition along with photographers from all over New England…an incredible honor does not even describe the feeling I felt to see my prints hung among the very talented photographers in New England.

Another gorgeous night for a beach session in Wells Beach Maine on Drakes Island.  It was wonderful seeing this family again, the last time I saw them their baby girl was still growing in her mommy’s belly. She is just beautiful and so much fun to photograph. Her curls and big brown eyes were a photographer’s dream to capture.  I can still hear her giggles as her parents sang her a very funny song.
